Guaymas, Mexico, is a fishing village on the Sea of Cortez, about 250 miles south of
Nogales, Arizona. There, the fishermen journey out each morning for camarones, the
shrimp, which have brought fame and fortune to the town. |
Here, at Guaymas Restaurante in Tiburon, they have brought the authentic "cocina
fresca regional" of Mexico to the shores of San Francisco Bay. They feature the
camarones de "Guaymas," ceviche, hand-made tamales, fresh salsa, mesquite
charcoal-grilled meats, fish, and fowl, and many other regional dishes and beverages not
typically seen on this side of the border. |
Guaymas has rooms for private parties, including the rooftop dining room with a panoramic
view of San Francisco, Angel Island, and the Bay.
